The Oxon SWIG (Semantic Web Interest Group) is a monthly get-together to discuss semantic web theory and practice. We are a friendly group who welcome newcomers - so if you enjoy the company of people interested in markup and technology, this is the group for you.
Next Meeting: Monday 12 May 2008, 6.30-8.30pm, Oxford University eResearch Center Ian Davis and his team will be doing a hands-on introduction to using the Talis platform. This will be at the
Oxford University eResearch Center (6.30-8.30pm). Bring your own laptop (wireless will be provided) and get up and running with this free resource for semantic computing.
Sunday 1 June Picnic in the University Parks (in the afternoon to allow for any warming effects that may be necessary). Precise co-ordinates to be provided this year as the University Parks are big. Please bring your own food and entertainment to share.
Thursday 24 July Open presentation evening. Please mail proposals for 20 minute talks. The venue will be the Oxford University Computing Center (6.30-8.30pm).
Saturday 9 August Olympic MashUp during the day. We still need to organise a venue for this with wireless access - ideas for venues, data sources and interesting hacks very welcome.
